What is sucralose
Sucralose (E955) is a sweetener derived from sugar. In the 1970s, researchers changed a few molecules of sugar, creating sucralose. It is the only low-calorie sweetener made from sugar. The taste is therefore very similar to sugar, but 600 times sweeter. That is why you only need very small doses of it to give your product a sweet taste. There is a lot of fuss about sweeteners and there are often doubts about their safety. After countless scientific studies, sucralose has been approved in more than 50 countries. We are also not in favor of most sweeteners, but we have no doubts about sucralose. This is also the only sweetener that we add to some products to give them a nice taste.
Why sucralose
Sucralose is a safe sweetener that tastes very similar to sugar, only much sweeter. It has no chemical or bitter aftertaste, which you can experience with other sweeteners. Sucralose is not broken down by the body, so it cannot provide calories to the body. This is therefore the ideal sugar substitute if you have to watch your calories. Furthermore, it has no effect on blood sugar levels or insulin levels. This is therefore a suitable sweetener for people with diabetes. Another major advantage is that it has no adverse effect on the teeth.
