What is L-Theanine
L-Theanine is an amino acid and is found in the leaves of green and black tea (Camellia Sinensis). It is not an essential amino acid, but it is also not one of the non-essential amino acids. So it cannot be produced by the body. Tea leaves contain various active substances that have unique properties. L-Theanine supports the action of various neurotransmitters such as GABA, Serotonin and Glutamate. These neurotransmitters are responsible for various processes in the brain. These neurotransmitters often have an inhibitory and calming effect on brain activity. Theanine possesses various cognitive properties.
L-Theanine can be used for various purposes. It can be used for sports, during heavy work, during stressful situations or when you want to relax. It is also sometimes seen as a milder and natural alternative to the drug Xanax (This is not a substitute). A big advantage is that it does not cause drowsiness.
